Not in March, but in April 2025. Kalypso Media and Claymore Game Studios will release Commandos: Origins a little later. The retail release will follow in May.

On 9 April 2025, Commandos: Origins will be released digitally for PC, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. The latest instalment in the real-time stealth tactics series will be available for €49.99 (PC) and €59.99 (Xbox Series X|S, PS5). It will be available on Xbox Game Pass for console and PC from day one.

Jürgen Reusswig, Studio Director at Claymore Game Studios: "'Consider it done', as the Green Beret would say, and that's exactly how we feel about this milestone moment for Commandos: Origins. After more than four years of studio set-up, design and development, as well as invaluable community feedback from multiple playtests, we are ready to launch Operation: Release for Commandos: Origins. We are thrilled that players can now experience the origin story of the elite unit that laid the foundation for this legendary franchise."

A deluxe edition, which costs €10 more, is also planned. It will include six Commando skins from Commandos 2 adapted for Commandos: Origins, a 3D print template (Green Beret), a digital calendar and the original soundtrack.

The retail edition for PC, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 will be available from 22 May 2025 and includes all content from the Deluxe Edition. The digital version for Xbox One (including Xbox Smart Delivery) and PlayStation 4 will follow later this year.

It is the first new game in the Commandos franchise since Commandos: Strike Force in 2006. In July 2018, Kalypso Media acquired the brand rights to the series and subsequently released HD remasters of Commandos 2 and Commandos 3 for PC and consoles. It is also the first game from Claymore Game Studios, which was founded in Darmstadt in 2020. Development was funded with €1,532,519 from the German government's computer games funding program.
