More Than 35,000 Jammers Joined the 2025 Global Game Jam
The 2025 Global Game Jam has been a huge success. More than 35,000 jammers created over 12,000 games during the Jam, 20% more than last year. Across Europe, more than 13,000 jammers participated.
The organisers are pleased with the 2025 Global Game Jam. During the Jam, 35,371 jammers created 12,098 games, which is more than 20% more games than last year, with 795 participating sites from 97 countries. According to the European Games Developer Federation, in Europe alone, 300 onsite and online locations brought together more than 13,000 jammers who created more than 3,000 video and tabletop games during the event.
"From Albania to Zimbabwe, India to Italy, Jamaica to Japan, Canada to Chile, jammers around the world came together around GGJ's mission of collaboration, innovation and experimentation through games. Not only did people make games, but connections, friends and memories," the organisers wrote. This year's theme was "Bubble", from bubble tea to speech bubbles and social bubbles. The 2026 Global Game Jam will take place from 26 January to 1 February 2026.
