Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3 and Resident Evil 7 biohazard (PS5 Retail)
Capcom is bringing three Resident Evil games to retail stores with 'next-generation updates' for PlayStation 5. These are the two remakes of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3, as well as Resident Evil 7 biohazard. All have sold millions of copies for the Japanese publisher.
The latest instalments of the Resident Evil franchise have been a huge success for Capcom. The 2019 remake of Resident Evil 2, which kicked off the successful remake wave of Capcom's best-selling franchise (163 million units sold across all RE games), has now sold over 14.5 million copies worldwide - well ahead of the 1998 original, which sold nearly five million copies on the first PlayStation. Following Monster Hunter: World and Monster Hunter Rise, the remake of RE2 is Capcom's third most successful game of all time. The Japanese publisher did an excellent job of breathing new life into an acclaimed original by using modern technology and a clever change of perspective, namely the over-shoulder camera instead of fixed camera angles.
