In total, over 20 million Sniper Elite games have been sold. Not bad for a niche shooter. As the title suggests, the game is a 3rd-person tactical stealth shooter set in the Second World War. The last instalment, Sniper Elite 5, was released in the summer of 2022 and took place in France. The new game, this time without a number in the title, is called Sniper Elite: Resistance and tells a story that runs parallel to the plot of the fifth game.
