Forge of Empires, Tribal Wars, Rise of Cultures, The West, or Grepolis—when people think of InnoGames, Elvenar is not usually the first title that comes to mind. Yet the cosy fantasy city-building game has become a vital pillar in the portfolio of the Hamburg-based developer, part of the Modern Times Group. And this pillar is now celebrating its tenth anniversary.

"Elvenar was the perfect addition to our portfolio at the time, which was very successful in attracting male builders who wanted to compete with others in historical settings," says Hendrik Klindworth, CEO and co-founder of InnoGames. "Elvenar, on the other hand, was intended to be a game that would not only appeal to fantasy fans and female players, but also to those who are happiest when they can realize their idea of the perfect city at their own pace, undisturbed by others. This approach has led to long-term success, proving once again that making games that last for decades is our key competencies."

Indeed, Elvenar has proven to be an economic success, as InnoGames illustrates with some striking figures. The game has generated a lifetime revenue of €200 million. It currently maintains 240,000 monthly active users (MAUs), 40% of whom have been playing for more than five years. In total, Elvenar has reached 26.2 million players worldwide. The community has logged 1.6 billion hours of playtime, carried out 10.4 billion trading transactions, fought 5.5 billion battles, and conducted 4.6 billion negotiations.
