Childcare in the gamescom Business Area for the First Time
Koelnmesse and game have taken on board the criticism from nursing mothers last year and have come up with a solution. In 2025, childcare facilities will be provided in the business centre for the first time.
Even at a successful trade fair like gamescom, there are aspects that can be improved and that are rightly criticized. In 2024, there was public criticism that mothers of small children were unable to attend the fair because children under the age of four were generally not permitted entry. However, no distinction was made between the crowded entertainment area and the more spacious business area. That is now set to change.
In 2025, for the first time, there will be childcare options in the business area for children up to and including the age of three. With this initiative, Koelnmesse and game aim to support trade visitors with small children who require childcare.
All necessary information will be compiled on a separate page. Among other things, it will be pointed out that advance registration is required due to limited availability. A dedicated page is expected to go online soon.
Additionally, the organizers note that it will not be possible to bring children into areas such as the press centre or the political opening, as these take place outside the business area. Furthermore, strollers are not permitted in the business area, although they can be left at the cloakroom.
