Nintendo Pushes Nintendo Today App with Exclusive Announcement
On the first day of its availability, Nintendo used the new Nintendo Today app for a major announcement, revealing the theatrical release date of the live-action Zelda film as 26 March 2027. Rumour has it that this could mark the beginning of a trilogy.

This has not been officially confirmed. The rumours originate from film insider Daniel Richtman, who reportedly has knowledge that all the lead actors are expected to sign long-term contracts covering the full production period of the trilogy. Filming of the first instalment is scheduled to begin in November 2025 and continue through to April 2026. The shoot is expected to take place in New Zealand.
