The UEFA European Football Championship is taking place in Germany and [EA Sports FC 24](/game/ea-sports-fc) from [Electronic Arts](/company/electronic-arts) is once again at the top of the German games charts, as it was last month. The only new entry is Nintendo's [Luigi's Mansion 2 HD](/game/luigis-mansion-2-hd) in 10th place.

No fewer than ten games in the top 20 are returnees, meaning they were not in the top 20 last month. [Elden Ring](/game/elden-ring)'s return to the charts at number 2 is of course due to the release of [Shadow of the Erdtree](/game/elden-ring-shadow-of-the-erdtree), which was released on 21 June but is only available in stores with the main game. The announcement of Sid Meier's Civilization VII boosted sales of its predecessor, [Sid Meier's Civilization VI](/game/sid-meiers-civilization-vi), which, together with a discount promotion, managed to reach third place. The situation is similar for Dragon Age. The recent presentation of Dragon Age: The Veilguard allowed both [Dragon Age: Inquisition](/game/dragon-age-inquisition) and [Dragon Age II](/game/dragon-age-ii) to re-enter the charts. In addition, summer sales promotions also boosted sales of many games.

The following games have dropped out of the top 20: [Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door](/game/paper-mario-the-thousand-year-door) (#4 last month), [Ghost of Tsushima: Director's Cut](/game/ghost-of-tsushima) following its PC release (#5 month), [Helldivers 2](/game/helldivers-2) (#8 last month), [Fallout 4](/game/fallout-4) following the success of the Amazon Prime series (#11 last month), and [Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III](/game/call-of-duty-modern-warfare-iii) (#12 last month).

The charts from game - Association of the German Games Industry are cross-platform and include the best-selling games for PC and consoles on discs and as downloads in Germany in the respective month. The data is provided by Games Sales Data (GSD), a platform of Video Games Europe (VGE), formerly the Interactive Software Federation of Europe (ISFE). Numerous retailers, publishers and digital distribution platforms such as the Nintendo eShop, PlayStation Network, Steam and Xbox Live report sales figures from Germany to GSD. However, digital sales of Nintendo titles from the eShop are not included. Epic Games Publishing and Larian Studios also do not provide sales data to GSD.
