Just three days after its release, the Elden Ring expansion Shadow of the Erdtree has sold five million copies worldwide. It is also currently the best-reviewed expansion at Metacritic.

Publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment and developer FromSoftware have announced a strong launch of the first and only expansion for Elden Ring. Shadow of the Erdtree has sold over five million units worldwide in its first three days on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC (Steam). The main game, Elden Ring, was released in February 2022 and sold over 25 million copies by June 2024.
