Newzoo has [published](https://newzoo.com/resources/blog/what-were-the-top-pc-and-console-games-by-cumulative-revenue-in-q3-2024) a top 10 chart of PC and console games by cumulative revenue in Q3 2024, covering six major markets: France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the UK and the US. 

Sports titles accounted for half of the top ten cumulative revenue rankings, with EA Sports College Football 25 and [EA Sports FC 25](/game/ea-sports-fc-25) taking the top two spots, NBA 2K25 at number 4, EA Sports Madden NFL 25 at number 9 and EA Sports FC 24 at number 10. "The college game EA Sports College Football 25 accounted for over 18% of the top ten’s total cumulative revenue," Lester Isaac Simon from Newzoo wrote. EA Sports FC 25 and [EA Sports FC 24](/game/ea-sports-fc) were the top two games in the five European markets, while in the US, EA Sports College Football 25 led the top ten, with no EA Sports FC 25 in the top ten. In third place, sandwiched between sports games, is Fortnite. [Black Myth: Wukong](/game/black-myth-wukong) was the fifth highest-grossing game across PC and console. [Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2](/game/warhammer-40000-space-marine-2) is in sixth place, ahead of Valorant in seventh and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II/III/Warzone 2.0 in eighth.

The charts look very different when looking at PCs and consoles separately. On PC, Black Myth: Wukong is the top-grossing game. It accounted for almost 6.9% of PC revenues in the third quarter, 0.1% ahead of Valorant. [World of Warcraft](/game/world-of-warcraft) moved up to third place thanks to the release of its expansion, [The War Within](/game/world-of-warcraft-the-war-within), in August. Space Marine 2 debuts at number five. [Star Wars Outlaws](/game/star-wars-outlaws) launched at number seven, but failed to make it into the console top ten. [God of War: Ragnarök](/game/god-of-war-ragnaroek) makes it to number 9, thanks in part to the Digital Edition Deluxe Upgrade released on Steam at the end of September.

While there are no sports games in the top ten on the PC, four of the top five on consoles are from this genre. "The five sports titles in the top ten PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch ranking accounted for almost 40% of console revenues in Q3. The newest (non-American) football game made up over 11% of all revenues, continuing the legacy of EA Sports FC 24," Newzoo states. [The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom](/game/the-legend-of-zelda-echoes-of-wisdom) made the Top Ten on console.

Considering only the games that were also released in 2024, the top list looks like this - and the dominance of sports games is once again evident, especially on consoles.

The market researchers write about Star Wars Outlaws: "Despite mixed reception from critics and fans, the new Star Wars game has seen its engagement grow since August (it was the sixth most-played Adventure game by MAU in September). It accounted for over 10% of new game revenues on PC. Outlaws also accounted for just over 3% of new console revenues." The PS5-exclusive [Astro Bot](/game/astro-bot) accounted for over 1.7% of new console game revenues. It was the fifth most played platform by MAU in September.
